In the district of Nalbari there is a District office under the control of Asstt. Director and 3 Nos. Weavers Extension Service Unit with 1 No. Sub-unit and 3 Nos. Handloom Training Centres under the control of Asstt. Director. Another 4 Nos. Handloom Production Centres are also there under the control of Superintendent.

Activities:  The O/O the Asstt. Director, Handloom & Textile, Nalbari are providing better services for upgrading the rural poor woman who are working in the weaving sector. All total 237 nos. Preliminary Weaving Societies and 1 no. District Level Weaving Co-operative society are working under the Deptt. in the district and the Deptt. taking directly and indirectly a vital role for the development of weaving activities by implementing  different Govt. schemes and projects time to time.

 

 

Training Centre(HTC) activities: Training provide to the 45 nos. trainees every year in 3 Nos. Handloom Training Centres with Fly shuttle Frame Loom with Draw-boy, Jacquard Machine and provide stipend to them as per Govt. rate.

Handloom Production Centre activities: The weavers engaged in Handloom Production Centres  are getting monthly wages as per Govt. norms and they produce quality handloom fabrics and the office made arrangement for sale the product.
